Meghan McCain is calling for the CNN correspondent of White House Chief Kaitlan Collins to revoke its press credentials, calling it a “absolute one” and a “pure Partisan hack” after a tense exchange during a white house press conference.
McCain’s criticism comes after Collins collided with the director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt on Wednesday.
“Kaitlan Collins is an absolute one and a pure partisan hack,” Podcast host and conservative commentator wrote on her X account on Wednesday.
“You have some respect for the two women standing in front of you who are exposing lies, deep corruption and keeping the place safe. The White House must draw its credentials.”
During the conference, Gabbard presented a new part of declassified documents aiming to support President Donald Trump’s long accusation that former President Barack Obama and his senior officials carried out “betrayal” by manipulating intelligence over Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election.
Collins the Gabbard press, suggesting political motivation after the time of release and reference to past Trump’s past criticism for Gabbard’s intelligence assessments – especially as they relate to Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump rejected Gabbard’s assertion earlier this year that the Iranian government was not pursuing nuclear weapons.
The president ordered the bombing of Iranian nuclear objects.
“Wauld what will you tell people who believe you are just leaving these documents now to improve your attitude with the president as he said your intelligence assessments were wrong?” Asked Collins.
Leavitt intervened rapidly and Gabbard rejected the question premises.
“First, I want to correct something you stated, which was quoting the Senate Intelligence Committee report as one and the same. I think you said the intelligence community,” Gabbard said.
“The Senate Intelligence Committee has a very different function from the office of the Director of National Intelligence. The evidence and intelligence that has been declassified and released is irrefutable. I will allow Caroline to speak with Secretary Rubio.”
Leavitt expanded to that point, criticizing the previous narrative of intelligence and protecting the administration.

“The only people suggesting that the director of national intelligence will issue evidence to prove to increase her attitude with the president are the people in this room who are constantly trying to plant disbelief and chaos between the President’s cabinet. And it is not working,” Leavitt said.
“I am with the President of the United States every day,” she added. “He has the greatest confidence in the Gabbard director. He always has. He continues to, and this is true for his entire cabinet, who is all working as a team to make the promises that this president made.”
Collins stood on the ground and doubled. “Who said this? Well, the president has undermined her publicly when it came to Iran. He said she was wrong. He told me she didn’t know what she was talking about. That was in Air Force One, in the camera,” Collins said.
McCain was not amazed, responding quickly to the internet with a harsh reprimand.
Former “The View” co-worker and the daughter of the late Senator John McCain in recent years has gone from a loud Gabbard critic to an ally.
At the center of the exchange was a one -year dispute over Russian intervention in the 2016 elections and the origin of the collusion narrative.
During the conference, Collins asked Gabbard: “Are you saying you [Marco Rubio] Is it wrong in the statement he made then? “Referring to a 2017 report signed by Rubio and other Senate Republicans saying that while no clashes were found, Russia intervened in the election.
Leavitt replied: “We found irrefutable evidence of Russian intervention, which the director of national intelligence simply confirmed to all that Russia was trying to plant disbelief and chaos.”
“But what is the anger in this … is the fact that the community of intelligence was concluding this story that the president clashed with the Russians … All these lies that were never true.”
She continued referring to Stele’s discredited file: “The president’s son was holding secret meetings with Russian, all these lies … She was cooked and paid for by the Clinton campaign.”
The post has requested comment from CNN.
The style of Collins’ confrontational questions has repeatedly attracted the reaction from Trump officials.
In April, she pressured Trump at the Oval office for the expulsion of Kilmar Abrego Garcia despite a Supreme Court order, causing Trump to accuse him of lack of credibility and dismiss CNN as one -sided.
Trump has often interrupted or excluded Collins from events, including a widely criticized incident in 2018, where she was banned from covering a White House press event after pressing Russia -related.
The opposing dynamics is extended beyond the oval office.
During a CNN Town Hall in New Hampshire, Collins’ aggressive interrogation made Trump call it a “bad person”.
