Hulkamaniacs never forget, brother.
Gawker’s Hulk Hulk Hulk Bodyslam on his sexual tape with the wife of his best friend who forced Gossip Rag to raise $ 140 million – and led to its destruction – remembered as part of the late wrestlers’ legacy.
WWE’s legend in Ring entertained millions, but his 2016 winning court Rumble with Gawker helped foster a historic issue on what media members have the right to publish.
Hogan, who died at the age of 71, joined billionaire Peter Thiel to sue in the wild site and his founder Nick Denton after Priza published sex tape in 2012. Pictures showed him joining Heather Clem, his best friend’s wife, Shock Jock Bubba Clem, Canopy Tryt tryst.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, successfully argued that it was an invasion of intimacy that lacked any news value.
A jury in Florida took about six hours to make a $ 115 million judgment in favor of Hogan, with the court that gave another $ 25 million later.
Hogan said he and his legal team “made history today” after their victory in court “because I think we have defended many people from perhaps passing what I went through.”
Hulkster fans marked his monumental legal note in the wake of his death from “a serious medicine -related issue,” officials said.
“Hulk Hogan was the first to take over the founding media and beat them,” a social media user wrote on Thursday. “Let’s never forget what Gawker did.”
“Hulk Hogan helped to destroy the destruction of Gawker. For which the nation, not the world, will be forever in its debt. RIP for a great American,” wrote another X.
Millions in the trial against Gawker forced Denton to sink the site as he sold the rest of his Gawker media group in Univision in August 2016.
“Sadly, neither me nor Gawker.com, the buzzing flag of the group I built with my colleagues, are coming together for this other phase,” a glum denton told a memorandum at the time.
“Desirable although other properties are, we have not been able to find a single media company or investor ready to get at Gawker.com.”
At the time of the site’s death, Hogan cheers for what was then known as Twitter, “they were confused with a wrong son, brother.”
Gawker tried a comeback in 2021, but died two years later.
